Gay pride Tel Aviv a huge success

Gay Welcome, Jun 14

The revellers and drag queens hit the streets last Friday, June 7th, to celebrate the annual gay pride festival in Israel's largest and gayest city, Tel Aviv. The march was part of a week of events, and it included tens of thousands of people waving rainbow flags and dancing to pumping music.

Tel Aviv was voted 'best Gay Destination' in 2011, and the city has been benefitting from its new gay-friendly status since Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai decided to market the city to the gay community. As well as the big pride parade, the city is home to Eliad Cohen's 'Papa' dance club brand and has featured as a stop on a few gay cruises in the past few years.
