Antwerp Cuts Ribbon On Massive LGBT Monument

OutTraveler, Jan 22

With help from Het Roze Huis, a Belgian LGBT organization celebrating its 20th anniversary, a new gay monument was erected in Belgium's largest city, Antwerp.

The Rainbow Monument is a railway bridge illuminated in different colors every night; it's now one of the most conspicuous LGBT markers in the world. "The Rainbow Monument is a symbol that shows the city of Antwerp is open to all people regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity," Het Roze Huis's Thomas Jans said in a statement.
