Plans for £40m ski centre in Paris

The Daily Telegraph, Aug 6

It was about this time last year that Boris Johnson, London's mayor, announced an ambitious £200m indoor ski centre to be built in London's Olympic Park (featuring a 300-metre long run and 20,000 square metres of pistes.)

Not to be out done, Paris has now announced that it is thinking of building an even larger indoor ski centre - but costing only €40m. So the rivalry between Europe's two biggest capitals continues.

The Parisian version will also have a chairlift, toboggan slopes, a restaurant and a three-star hotel.
