FestivalsKing's Day Amsterdam

Amsterdam

27 Apr - 27 Apr, 2017

King's Day Amsterdam (formerly Queen's Day Amsterdam) is one of the events that attracts gays from all over the world. King's Day is not really an official ‘pink event’; however, if you visit any of Amsterdam’s well-known gay hot spots, you’d never know the difference. Together with Gay Pride during the first weekend of August, Amsterdam King's Day has become the city's second Mardi Gras. For example, along the Amstel between Muntplein and Waterlooplein there are very lively parties, as well as at the Homo Monument on the Westermarkt, on the Warmoesstraat and the Zeedijk, and on the Reguliersdwarsstraat. From about noon till well into the night all these areas celebrate with lots of music, plenty of beer and thousands of pink men and women out in the street.

HOTSPOT GUIDE

Guide to Gay Amsterdam

Traditionally one of the gayest cities in Europe - Amsterdam provides superb bars, saunas, clubs and restaurants. And plenty to keep culture vultures busy with too - with some great museum and galleries.
