Gay Night at the Zoo

FestivalsGay Night at the Zoo, Berlin

Berlin

19 Jul - 19 Jul, 2017

Gay Night at the Zoo is one of the most unusual events of the Berlin Christopher Street Day. In Berlin Zoo, lesbians and gays swing and groove to the sounds of the BVG Big Band. Lucy van Org, Roman Leitner-Shamov and Kim Fisher sing and provide a buoyant atmosphere. In the breaks between dances, visitors relax together and occasionally walk around the Berlin Zoologischer Garten, which has a special aura at night. In the glow of the coloured lights, penguins are joined by tigers and birds of all kinds. The animals are accustomed to the nightly activities, as the event has long been part of the Berlin Pride Week tradition. Each year, regulars look forward to the outdoor event, which offers a relaxed atmosphere on the dance floor, irrespective of the weather.

HOTSPOT GUIDE

Guide to Gay Berlin

Their (now-ex) gay mayor called it 'poor but sexy' - and Berlin lives up to it, with perhaps Europe's raunchiest gay scene, a vibrant art scene and plenty of funky food - all at relatively low prices.
